It was a double promotion for the Egbema born Deputy Chief of Staff, Government House Owerri, Imo State, Engr. Kingsley Uju on Anglican Mothering Sunday , when the women of the DIOCESE ON THE LAKE’ Cathederal Church of St Mary Magdalene, Oguta bestowed on him a prestigious honour for his contributions to the development of the church and mankind.

Presenting the Plague (symbol of honour) to Uju, the Vicar of the Diocese on the lake Rev Canon Chinedu Ogbonna described Uju as a man desiring the honour for his contributions to the development of humanity.

Responding, Engr. Uju thanked them for finding him worthy to touch their plague. He remarked that women are veritable tool for human development who have maintained and guided mankind from creation till date and said nothing could be done without them.

Uju however donated cash to the church and promised to foot the bill of Rev Uche Ijeoma who was sick and flown overseas for medical care; to bring him back home and commended the church for being real worshippers of God who frequently prayed for the success of all mankind.

In another development, the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ohaji/Egbema, Oguta and Oru West Local Government have endorsed the representation of Engr Kingsley Uju, the Deputy Chief of Staff, Government House Owerri, Imo State to their constituency at the Federal House of Representative.

The event took place on Sunday in Oguta when a large crowd of APC supporters and members from the three Local Government Areas gathered to hail Uju as their man of choice.

All the APC leaders, at the Local Government levels, Ward levels, Youth leaders Women leaders, and other interest groups like the Niger Delta women all sang and jubilated as he was raised as their man for the federal representative.

Earlier, a motion was raised and supported by majority for his adoption and all the ward Chairmen in the Local Governments promised him success and to give him deep support and described his coming as a blessing to the three local governments.

According to them, Uju has liberated them since he came out and they would support him.

The APC Apex leader in the absence of Prof. Anthony Anwuka, Barr. Miletus Nlemedim, the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Imo state while speaking told the crowd of APC that he was on a dual purpose representing Governor Okorocha on one side and would convey the message to Governor that his own son has been adopted to represent the LGAs and has witnessed the event first hand and wished Uju victory at last.

Another APC leader and the Commissioner for Niger Delta Ministry in Imo state, Hon. Jones Uzoka speaking described Uju as a rare gen who has come to replace Arthor Nzeribe who could change peoples’ lives, and advised the people to grab Uju and accept him to represent them.

In a vote of thanks, the Chief host Hon. Walter Uzonwanne, the Chairman of Imo Housing Corporation noted that the only thing that thrives amongst people is oligarchy, stating that when the righteous is on the throne, the people rejoice and advocated for a change of things in the place.

Engr. Uju in his response thanked the leaders and ward Chairmen for endorsing him to represent them. He expressed sincere delight on the way and manner the event was enlarged after the church award and thanked those who spoke to endorse him.
