As political parties advanced plans to conduct their primaries in the next 6 weeks as a prelude to elect credible candidates that will fly the party flags during the 2019 general polls, Prince Chidi Eke, an aspirant for Owerri Federal Constituency under the platform of All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) says he stands for restructuring of Nigeria as the only antidote to guarantee accelerated transformation, unity of purpose and true Federalism.
Eke who is a management guru turned astute politician said this while declaring his intention to give the good people of Owerri Federal Constituency that includes Owerri Municipal, Owerri North and Owerri West local government areas of Imo State an effective, robust and quality representation before the principal stakeholders of the party at his Umuoma Nekede Ward 7.
The University of Ibadan graduate of Mathematics/Physics likened his ambition to a rescue mission as he decried the level of transformation and infrastructural development of the Federal Constituency despite its metropolitan nature.
He also expressed worries on the level of poverty in the area which he attributed to high level of youths unemployment and lack of empowerment opportunities to the populace this he said motivated him into politics and the purposeful creation of four opportunities desk if elected.
The desk he assured is to ameliorate the peoples suffering. These are Scholarship, Small and Medium Scale Business Opportunities, Job Creation and desk for Sourcing Foreign and Local Grants.
The icon in ICT further attributed lack of passionate and patriotic representations by the previous representatives of the federal constituency as the hallmark of his peoples alleged marginalization by the Federal Government while insisting that if his vision and mission is implemented in line with the creation of the four desks, that his people will definitely appreciate the essence of quality representations.
The aspirant who also expressed his commitment to value added agriculture as well as good and purposeful governance noted that he has been in APGA for over 12 years due to the party’s commitment to brotherhood and responsible governance using Anambra State as an example:
Responding, Mr. Vincent Ikpe, the party ward Chairman expressed satisfaction over the credentials of the aspirant.
Ikpe enjoined him not to relent in his endaevour noting that the party delegates will give him massive support as a known Philanthropist.
While Chief Eddy Anyanwu described the aspirant as a man of implicit trust, confidence and courage.
Anyanwu also noted the aspirant as a bridge builder with integrity, credibility and pedigree assuring that if given the party ticket that the aspirant also has the capacity and capability to win the general election as man of the people.
